The Phelps Maple Syrup Fest is a fun, family event that is held annually in Phelps, the Maple Syrup Capital of Wisconsin. Our event is based at the Phelps school, where you will be able to get maple based foods prepared on-site by the owners of Sunrise Lodge and their staff. There will be many interesting things to see and do on the grounds. There will be a craft/art show and sale with over 70 vendors along with several information booths, tree tapping demonstrations will go on regularly throughout the day, maple taffy on the snow will be demonstrated for your fun and pleasure, a presentation will be given by Alice in Dairyland and a maple syrup judging contest for the Best Northwoods Maple Syrup of the Year will be going on with the winner chosen at noon. All these things and more will be available to all for free! There will also be guided bus tours to local sugar bushes available. A map will be available to those that prefer to drive themselves at their own pace.
