International Wisconsin Ginseng Festival
Returning for a second year, the International Wisconsin Ginseng Festival is promised to bring bold flavors, exciting entertainment, immersive activities, and much more. This year the festival will be held September 14th-16th at the 400 block in Wausau, WI with activities spanning throughout Marathon County. Along with being a culinary and agricultural festival this festival is about Wisconsin Agriculture and celebration of the ginseng industry which has had such an impact on the Wisconsin economy. Stop by booths to speak with the farmers themselves and not only try their product but hear their stories. The festival features many exciting activities such as an opportunity to dig your own ginseng root, historical tours to learn about how ginseng farming began in the area, the Ginseng Festival Poster Art Contest and Exhibit, Granite Peak Chair Lift Rides, cooking demonstrations, a 5K run, and much more. New this year will be educational seminars, a scavenger hunt, and a reworked mainstage line up, to name a few. The festival is all about local from the local gem the ginseng root to local farm to table fare you can submerse yourself in true Wisconsin culture.
